Альбомы TV on the Radio, Боба Дилана (Bob Dylan) и Лила Уэйна (Lil Wayne) возглавили рейтинг 50 лучших музыкальных релизов уходящего года, по версии американского журнала Rolling Stone. Coldplay и Metallica вошли в десятку сильнейших.

Главными альбомами года стали новый современный рок-альбом «Dear Science» группы TV on the Radio, сборник записей Дилана «Tell Tale Signs» из его «Серии бутлегов» (The Bootleg Series) и «Tha Carter III» рэпера Лила Уэйна.

Далее Rolling Stone расположил диски My Morning Jacket, Джона Мелленкампа (John Mellencamp), Сантоголд (Santogold), Coldplay, Бека (Beck), Metallica, Vampire Weekend. Лил Уэйн стал единственным в десятке, кто не играет рок.
