The head of the Film Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California.

Alan is a son to a director of photography and grandson to a director, was born in Moscow. At the age of six, Alan's family moved to Los Angeles and shortly after high school, he began directing and producing numerous industrials and productions for the home video market. A few years later, he directed and shot his first music video for the group Compton's Most Wanted.

In 1990, with partner Jeff Clark, he formed Calzatti/Clark Productions, later changing to Sputnik Films. Over the next 18 years, he completed over 250 music videos and numerous commercials for the US and international markets. In 1996 Alan, in collaboration with 3D computer graphics artist Damon Chernavsky, got the MTV Viewers Choice Award for the Backstreet Boys "Get Down". A year later, they repeated that success with N'Sync, which climbed to a solid number one position on the European charts.

Alan is well versed in the creative and technical aspects of directing, shooting, editing and creating VFX. He has directed videos for Universal Music Group, Sony, Atlantic, EMI, A&M, East West, American, Warner Bros., Jive, Hollywood Records & BMG/RCA to name a few. Most recently, he shot the critically acclaimed rockumentary "Heima — a film by Sigur Rós."

Edward Artemiev is a famous composer whose name for many people is associated with electronic music.

Artemiev accomplished his academic musical education at the Moscow Conservatoire in Yuri Shaporin's composition class. In 1960 he met engineer Eugene Murzin, the creator of the ANS synthesizer - one of the first synthesizers in the world. That meeting sealed his fate. Artemiev became one of the first composers who wrote music for synthesizers. Nowadays, Artemiev is an acknowledged pioneer of Russian electronic music.

Artemiev is the author of chamber and symphonic music, the opera "Crime and Punishment", scores for the theatre (over 30) and scores for films (over 140), among others he composed music for Andrei Tarkovsky's films "Solaris", "The Mirror" and "Stalker".

Long periods of reclusion at his studio where Artemiev creates his compositions alternate with trips to electronic music festivals - to Baltimore to attend "Res musica" International Electroacoustic Music Festival, to Bourges to take part in "Synthese" Festival International de Musique Experimentale de Bourges, to recording companies or film studios, as well as to take part in the activities of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (ICEM), UNESCO.

Russian Association for Electroacoustic Music of which Edward Artemiev is President is comprised as a national section into this International infrastructure.

Artemy Troitsky

Russia's most famous cultural journalist and music commentator.

While a student at Moscow State University in the early 1970-s under Brezhnev, Artemy Troitsky became notorious for hosting illicit discos at a university bar. Later he published illegal samizdat journals with underground reports of the Beatles and Deep Purple.

In the 1980 he became an editor and respected journalist.

In the 1990s he worked at "Novaya Gazeta" that published the work of Anna Politkovskaya, who was assasinated. He was also the editor of "Playboy" for a short while. After communism Troitsky hosted the TV show "Programma A" and did shows for other stations which increased his fame. He published 6 books, translated and published all over the world.

Чернавский работал в качестве музыкального директора и композитора крупнейших международных форумов:

• 1985 — «Ледовый бал» на XII Всемирном фестивале молодежи и студентов в Москвe
• 1986 — Открытие Игр доброй воли в Лужниках (Москва), организованных по инициативе и при содействии Теда Тернера и Михаила Горбачева
• 1987–1988 — Междунардный фестиваль «Индия — СССР», проходивший в течение двух лет более чем в 30 городах Индии и СССР, с участием Михаила Горбачева и Раджива Ганди.

Написал около 1000 песен и инструментальных произведений, среди них музыка к ряду кинофильмов и мультфильмов. Лауреат музыкальных и телевизионных конкурсов. С 1994 года работает и живет в Лос-Анджелесе (США). Член авторских организаций GEMA, BMI и РАО.

Основатель и президент первой советской студии звукозаписи и продюсирования артистов СПМ «Рекорд», основанной в 1986 году.

Эдуард Артемьев — знаменитый композитор, чье имя у многих ассоциируется с электронной музыкой.

Академическое образование Артемьев получил в Московской консерватории по классу композиции Юрия Шапорина. В 1960-м году Артемьев встретился с инженером Евгением Мурзиным, создателем одного из первых в мире синтезаторов АНС, и эта встреча определила его судьбу. Артемьев одним из первых стал писать музыку с помощью синтезатора. Сегодня Артемьев — всемирно известный патриарх русской электронной музыки, который сочинял практически во всех жанрах и стилях: от электронного авангарда и академического минимализма до арт-рока.

Эдуард Артемьев — автор камерных и симфонических произведений, оперы «Преступление и наказание», музыки для театральных постановок (больше 30) и кинофильмов (больше 140), в том числе музыки к фильмам Андрея Тарковского «Солярис», «Зеркало» и «Сталкер».

Периоды длительного отшельничества у себя в студии, где Артемьев создает свои композиции, сменяются поездками на фестивали электронной музыки Res musica (Балтимор), Synthese (Бурж), на фирмы звукозаписи или киностудии, а также для участия в деятельности Интернациональной конфедерации электроакустической музыки (I.C.E.M.) при UNESCO, куда входит Российская Ассоциация электроакустической музыки, президентом которой он является. И сейчас Эдуард Артемьев, будучи музыкантом и композитором международного класса в составе Международного Экспертного Совета RV2, полон желания помогать молодым талантам найти своё место на мировой сцене.

Артемий Троицкий

Родился 16 июня 1955 в Ярославле (CCCР).

Рок-журналист, музыкальный критик, один из первых пропагандистов рок-музыки в СССР, инди- и электронной музыки в России. Троицкий — член жюри и организатор многочисленных концертов и фестивалей. Один из ведущих специалистов по современной музыке в России. В середине 2000-х организовал несколько музыкальных лейблов — «Прибой», «Zenith», на которых выпускается малоизвестная в России музыка.

В 1987 году Артемий Троицкий выпустил в Англии (затем в Америке, Японии и странах Европы) книгу «Назад в СССР» об истории советской рок-музыки, которая вышла в СССР под названием «Рок в Союзе: 60-е, 70-е, 80-е…» только в 1991 году.

В 1990 году в Италии, Англии и Голландии вышла книга «Тусовка. Что случилось с советским андеграундом», не опубликованная в России. Со слов самого А. Троицкого в интервью: «Интересные времена» — политическая — была издана в Финляндии. Вот совсем недавно появилась моя новая книжка «Я введу вас в мир… Поп»".

В 2009 году в Издательском Доме СОЮЗ вышла аудиокнига «Back in the USSR. Подлинная история рока в России»
